Processor

Asus TUF Dash F15 FX517ZR is powered by the all-new Intel Core i7-12650H based on its brand-new Alder Lake architecture. The performance should be significantly faster than the earlier Tiger Lake-H series CPUs at comparable clock speeds (like the Core i7-11800H).

This particular processor has 10-cores and 16-threads. On the performance front, the clock rate runs from 2.3 to 4.7 GHz, while on the efficiency front, it is between 1.7 to 3.5 GHz.

Single-core performance is also superior to Tiger Lake CPUs with equal or higher clock speeds because of the architectural advancements. Although most laptops utilize a PL1 of about 60 Watts, the CPU is rated at 45 W base power (115 W PL2). The SoC is created by Intel using a new technology, often known as Intel 7.

Cooling Solution

The chassis being slim doesn’t have much area for cooling, therefore Asus has improved the Arc Flow Fans™ in every way to increase the airflow. To suck in more air, the intakes are deliberately formed and positioned.
